Chikako Ogawa is an award-winning visual artist inspired by her Japanese roots.
Chikako is a visual artist who grew up in Japan and is now based in Saskatoon, Canada. Her work is recognized for its heartwarming and calming qualities, often expressed through ink painting and storytelling.
Her background includes illustrating over ten picture books published in Japan and Canada, contributing to magazines, and creating designs for publications, amenities, and various products.
Rooted in her Japanese heritage, her current work explores the philosophy of “less is more” — creating art that is simple yet powerful and peaceful. Through storytelling, she reflects on themes of identity, memory, and belonging in an ever-changing world.
