Papercraft

Calling Home (2025)

This project is a series of papercraft works inspired by Japanese folk songs and fairytales.

Tearing the paper by hand, I traced the memories of songs I heard in my childhood - fragments that remained in my mind - and gently arranged them within each frame.

By leaving space and not overloading the pieces with detail, I've allowed the ambiguity of memory and the imagination that fills in the gaps to remain visible.

These small stories, shaped by both recollection and feeling, are quietly enclosed in their frames.

When I close my eyes, I can faintly hear the sounds and smell the scents of that time - bringing back memories of the place I once called home.
